C-cret - P.A.B

New single released by Swedish rapper C-cret

An old pic taken by me back in 2010.

After a quite successful viral marketing campaign during the last two weeks, Swedish rapper C-cret (Johan Georgos Aslan) has finally revealed what the cryptic abbreviation P.A.B stands for. It's the name of his latest single, Punk Ass Bitch, a tight, catchy tune which is leaning a bit towards Timbaland in production, though it also faintly reminds me of the song Manipulate (Mastermind Mix), by the Boston synthpop band Freezepop (from the album Fancy Ultra Fresh, released in 2004 on The Archenemy Record Company), but that might just be the vocoded female vocals and the ping-pong delayed synth messing with my head. The composition and production on Punk Ass Bitch is top notch if you're going for a radio hit. The beat feels slower than some of his previous singles Closer (around 125 BPM) and Gotta B Tha Best (around 95 BPM), it's tempo feels more similar to the minimalism in Mami (around 98 BPM). Pretty straight, without a lot of shuffled rythmics going on. Worth to mention is that his previous singles are produced by Swedish DJ and producer Kemal Kem Yilmaz AKA Kem.163 (check this out if you're into the Moombah/Deephouse-sound) while this new single is signed Ivar Lisinski. The rap is as usual very tight, and the repetition of the title will probably make it stick in many heads this summer. It would not surprise me the slightest if a heavy club mix of this shows up on Dödselectro in the near future.
As a final conclusion, this single will most definitely make a few dancefloors and festival camps bounce later this year.

I wish you the best of luck Johan, and I'm thinking the same thing as everyone else, when is the album getting released?

This is a post title

So, what is this about?

Well, since I'm a photographer, I have been trying lots of different ways to host my photos online. This is my latest try. Also, some of you might want to get some tips on how to progress with your photographic ambitions, what you can do, how to do it. Basically, I'll try to push you in the right direction.

I thought this was going to be about music! :( Rumors say you're an audio geek.. lies?

It's true I also pose as an audio engineer and producer, but I'm no where near a professional... though I've spent countless hours on Wikipedia, reading about pretty much everything related to acoustics and analog signal chains and audio effects and synthesizers and... yeah, you get it. I'd say I know a fair deal about audio, so there might be some thoughts and tips directed towards people interested in music production too. Oh, and links of course, both to cool Youtube-videos, my own sketchy music projects and links to music and photos my friends have created, if I feel they're relevant.

Sounds sweet! But what kind of stuff are you using, and could you teach me how to become famous like Skrillex and Deadmau5 and [insert next big thing]? :D

There will be lists of equipment used, both in the photo- and audio-department. I will not reply to questions that Google can answer for you. If you get famous or not after reading my articles and posts is really up to yourself. It's all in your head, the tricky part is getting it out there.

You seem to know what you're talking about. Anything else you want to add?

There will also be thoughts on life, pictures of cute animals and what I had for lunch, cheesy poems, cupcakes and links to huge clothing companies trying to sell t-shirts that went out of style ten years ago.

Or not.

The serious things I'd like to add includes motivational things like, if you don't know how to do something, ask someone who knows. This person might be me, or someone else. And also the all important and extremely useful LEARN HOW TO GOOGLE.

That is all.

PS.
The "thoughts on life"-part was true.
